DIMENSIONS OF ZOE
2021

Zoe is a dynamic, self-organising, transversal force of life that cuts across and reconnects previously segregated species, categories, and domains.
-R. Braidotti

The project constitutes the central theme of my BA thesis for which I decided to use the forest as an artistic studio. The proposal represents an evolving body that is incapable of detaching itself from the environment to which it belongs. It questions the definition of the human being as a being, independent of its environment, and turns the body into a constantly changing canvas that speaks out about the evolution of existence itself.

Executed in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and San Mamés, Spain, the proposal represents an evolving body that is incapable of detaching itself from the environment to which it belongs. The earth is a place where the remains of perished bodies feed new life, which symbolises the meeting of past and future; it is, the place where the cycle of life is most visible. Upon physically reaching it, the being establishes its intangible connection that it forms with existence in all its immensity, and through movement, begins to discover it; it fights, suffers, and struggles, but only to learn and die, be reborn and try again.
